I was pulled over in Casper, WY for speeding on the Interstate. The officer told me that the fine was $150 and I had to pay right now, in cash, to avoid going to jail. Was he telling the truth? Additional info: The officer accused me of eluding him because I pulled off the interstate and onto a side road. He asked me approximately 20 times, if not more, if I was eluding him and I said no every time. He said I will have a court appearance On January 20th, and if I did not say "Yes" I will be in court on that date, he would arrest me. He told me that because of some act that Wyoming was a part of, my license could be suspended if I do not attend, and that Montana was not a part of the act so he would not charge me with eluding an officer. He said I must pay my ticket for speeding now or go to jail. He said I could still appear in court to dispute the ticket, but obviously by paying for the ticket that is an admission to guilt.
